A weather smorgasbord: Freezing drizzle, fog, high winds, rain

All that snow that landed in Chicagoland Friday night may not last long. Temperatures are rising today, creating a whole new set of weather concerns, including freezing drizzle, icy roads, fog, rain, high winds, and possibly thunderstorms.

The most immediate concern is the freezing drizzle and fog this afternoon and evening, according to the National Weather Service. Temperatures in the area are expected to be right around 32 degrees, potentially freezing the anticipated precipitation. And, as Chicagoweathercenter.com notes, the snow on the ground with warm moist air above is an ideal breeding ground for fog; it should be especially thick tonight.
