Dozens of cats found in Cicero home euthanized
An animal shelter euthanized 81 cats found in an elderly woman’s home in Cicero last week after it was determined they were in extremely poor health and many tested positive for the feline leukemia virus, according to shelter and town officials.
Fire officials conducting a well-being check found the cats inside and outside the home in the 1800 block of 57th Avenue on June 20. The officials reported unsanitary and unhealthy conditions.
