Metra bans laminated passes to deter counterfeiting

Conductors started delivering the wake-up call to Metra passengers bright and early Friday: If you want to ride, don’t laminate your monthly passes.

Metra will no longer accept passes that have been laminated because the plastic coating thwarts the tickets’ anti-counterfeiting features, the agency said.
