Meditation for World Peace

The Theosophical Society in America will host Meditation for World Peace, a yearly event in which people use their concentrated thought power to help generate energy for peace. Coinciding with group meditations throughout the world, the group will meet to help heal the sense of separation and to release light, love, and spiritual energy. The event will take place from 6 to 7 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 31 at the society, 1926 N. Main St., Wheaton.  Refreshments will be provided after the meditation. There is no charge. All donations, monetary or canned and paper products, will be donated to the Humanitarian Service Project for people in need.

New Year’s Eve with Mark Shea

Join the Friars and Sisters of Marytown – The National Shrine of St. Maximilain Kolbe and their special guest, the acclaimed Catholic author and award-winning columnist Mark Shea on Dec. 31, from 9AM to Noon for a series of talks and discussions on “Mary, Mother of the Son” and the “Real Presence.” The shrine is located at1600 W. Park Ave., Libertyville.

Bubble Bash 2011: All Aboard! Next Stop 2012

DuPage Children’s Museum, 301 N. Washington St., Naperville, will host its 10th annual New Year’s Eve celebration Bubble Bash from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Dec. 31.  The event will feature music by The Boogers, a rock and roll group that sings kid-friendly tunes. Denny Diamond NYE dinner show at White Fence Farm

Denny Diamond & TFJ (The Family Jewels) are an accomplished family trio who have delighted audiences across the nation. They perform the music of one of America’s favorite singer/songwriters, Neil Diamond. Mixing in songs made famous by artists like Johnny Cash, Roger Miller, Ricky Nelson and Elvis. Join them Saturday from 5 to 9 p.m. At White Fence Farm, 1376 Joliet Road, Romeoville.

New Years Eve Bash 2011
